Women in the Outdoors

I'm expirencing a modern writer's dillema today as I try to change the format on my last manuscript for the publisher with a computer that is not cooperative. I am quite frustrated.

I have done some busy work today including planting peppers and marigolds as well as two blue spruce trees and I've written a long letter as well as sending in a payment for a women in the outdoors event in June. I like the women in the outdoors events which are sponsored by the wild turkey federation. You can take a class in anything from shotgun, archery or handgun to camp cooking or in the case of this event you can even take belly dancing! I love to learn new things.

I've enjoyed reading the book by John Simon about the life of Cowboy Copas who lived at Bluecreek which was one of the places where I attended school. Roy Rogers was from Duck Run which was 15-20 miles away. I guess they made a lot of music at the time when those two were growing up and it shows that what a kid grows up with will help them to excell in that field later. An early start promotes a sucessful finish, I guess.

I'm doing a reading in Circleville tonight and hope to see some of you there.

I never knew Cowboy Copas lived down that way. My mom still has and plays a bunch of his records.

By the way, I waved adios to the opossum today. In return, he hissed something I can't repeat.
