Anyplace Can Be Special

In setting my novels in small town southern Ohio, I've delved into the local lore more than I would have otherwise. Although I knew that all communities have their postives, I've become more aware as I delve into the history and the traditions of a particular place.
When I wrote the book Tempest Rider, set in Peebles, Ohio, I overlooked a very important landmark of the are, Serpent Mound. I intend to go back and correct this oversight with my next book. The Abandoned Ghost, set in Greenfield will be out soon. I did explore and write about the area as well as mention local landmarks etc. in the book, however, I think I've found that my research needs to be done on a deeper level for subsequent books. Any place can be special and it has it's own unique reasons, culture, and landmarks as a result.
