Christmas Depression Saddens Me

I've seen so many people depressed this Christmas because they are alone or they want life to be different than it is somehow. I suggested to one person that he should make a new years resolution to work on the areas he feels need change. The season seems to intensify everything we feel. If we are at a good point in our lives the season is magical and we expirence greater joy than normal but if things are stagnant, if we are alone or grieving for some loss in our lives it is a really bad time. It's as if everything is magnified by our increased expectations for Christmas.

Hallmark gives us a series of stories that usually have happy endings and when we are at a good place those feel good to watch. Sometimes they also have a useful message for the lonely or lost among us as well, but usually those who are in pain can not bear the happy, happy message and will believe those stories hold nothing for them.

I want to say to all the lonely, unhappy people who may chance upon this message, "I am thinking of you and I will pray for you this season.. Jesus is the reason for the season and his magical birth can motivate you to improve your life if you will let it."
