Questing Hart Trilogy

I have finally finished the first draft of the last book in the Questing Hart Trilogy which is set in West Union, Ohio. This series is published by Snowy Creek Books.

In Shattered Hart, the heroine, Alicia Hart is devastated by her husband's death and things go downhill from there. Events at his funeral send her world crashing to the point where she believes she can not continue with her job at at the moment. She decides to take a sabbatical from work. In order to occupy her, she plans to travel to West Va. to investigate a family mystery from 1798. In 1798, her ancestors, the Rose family, had a slave Millie who was hung for attempted murder of a son of the family and for having burned down the barn. In the following years, family members started turning up dead in unusual ways. For example the patriarch of the family was found dead with a nail driven through his temple. Her branch of the family moved to Ohio around that time. Alicia suspects in order to avoid being murdered themselves. She has just begun to get results in the quest to solve this mystery when the police in West Union, Ohio request that she return because they have now declared her husband's death a homicide. Alicia has now found herself involved in two mysteries which she must solve in order to move forward in her life. This book should appeal to those who like to do genealogy work.

See next post for a synopsis of the second book in the trilogy, Hopeful Hart.
