Superstition in Today’s World
I’m surprised to see that superstition is still alive and well in today’s world. I’m a writer of mystery suspense novels and sometimes it’s a ghost mystery. Everyone seems to like a good ghost story. Now I’ve never seen a ghost; I’ve never seen a UFO; or at least I don’t think it was a UFO, and I’ve never seen Devils or Angels in the world around me. However, I won’t say that those things do not exist.
I know that some very reputable people have reported these things and I certainly do not want to call them liars. I’m sure they saw what they saw. The only question I have is did they interpret what they saw accurately.
There may be ghosts, trolls, angels and demons all around me. Just because I haven’t seen them does not mean they aren’t there. Death may be just a thin curtain that lies between the earthly me and the me I’ll become after death. Ghosts may have wandered through the curtain onto our side from time to time, and we may wander to their side of things in our dreams.
Mostly when I write I consider the ghost to be just the same as the person was in life, good or bad. He or she is, however, in altered circumstances now and can do some things and cannot do some things he once could do.
Recently I’ve been researching beliefs that I’d previously been unaware of such as the belief that Alien colonies may reside inside the earth and places like Serpent Mound may be vortexes with openings to their world. A UFO when seen by observers may not have come from outside our galaxy but from unseen caves under the waters of our own planet.
I’ve always been fascinated with philosophies and beliefs that are unique and different from my own culture. My mother taught me that ghosts are not real but the people around me said that they were. Who should I believe?
